Lutheran Schools Week - January 25 - 31

St. John's is excited to celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week with the theme "Life Together in Christ."

Each day features a different emphasis and special fun opportunities for the students.

Monday - Pray Together

The day will begin in church with all school devotions.  Students will be able to bring a stuffed animal to school, read a book with their chapel "buddy, " and end the day with prayer.

Tuesday - Serve Together

An upper grade student will begin the day for everyone by reading a daily devotion. With a donation of $1.00 to support the Comfort Dogs ministry, students can wear a special hat or accessory for the day.  During the day each class will participate in a service project.

Wednesday - Learn Together

Devotions read by an upper grader again begins the day.  Today is very special because it is STEP-UP Day.  For a portion of the day each class will advance to the next grade in order to get a sneak preview of what to look forward to in the coming year.  Special dress for this day is wearing as much black as possible to produce a blackout effect.

Thursday - Play Together

A daily devotion begins the day.  Fun activities will be PJ day for the younger students and hoodie day for the older grades.  Older students will bring a board game to play with their younger chapel "buddy."

Friday - Special Friends Day

On this day students are dressed to look their best for the special adult friend they invite to spend the day with them. The day begins with breakfast, continues with adults and students spending time together in classrooms, and concludes with worship.
